The first night we were in Vernet-les-Bains, we were treated to a spectacular sunset. As we sat on our balcony enjoying a class of wine, we thought "how wonderful to see this every night!". Then the plague of rain that had been with us through France set in. We never had another night like that one. As you can see, the town is dominated by the local church on the hill. Mt. Canigou was behind the apartment and could only be seen once you had gone into town and looked back.
